Die Bauherrschaft, eine junge Familie aus dem Bayerischen Wald, wünschte sich ein günstiges Haus mit der Anmutung eines typischen lokalen ‚Stadels‘ (Scheune) und einer Orientierung zum panoramaartigen Ausblick.
Konsequenter Weise ist das Haus aus lokalem Fichtenholz gebaut und steht auf einer Bodenplatte, die aus einer einzigen monolithischen Schicht Beton besteht und geglättet und angeschliffen wurde.
Die längliche Proportion und die kompromisslose Erschließung schaffen eine fortwährende Promenade entlang der attraktiven Ausblicke.
Der fließende Innenraum unterstützt das Familienleben unter dem gemeinsamen Dach, das fortwährend in verschiedener Form erlebbar ist.
Die Fassade kombiniert den vernakulären Typus des Stadels mit baugeschichtlich recht entgegengesetzten Elementen, um mit einfachen Mitteln eine Art Noblesse zu schaffen. Die Detaillierung musste so einfach sein, dass die Fassade von den Bauherren selbst montiert werden konnte.
Das Niedrigenergie-Konzept basiert auf eine gut gedämmten Gebäudehülle (Holz), ausreichender Speichermasse (Beton-Bodenplatte und Lehmoberflächen) und einer abgestimmten Gebäudetechnik. Das Haus wird mit einer Kombination aus Solarthermie und einem großen zentralen Speicherofen beheizt.
The clients, a young family living in the Bavarian Forest, wished for a low-priced house which is oriented towards the panoramic view and has the appearance of a typical local barn.
Consistently, the house is entirely constructed from local spruce wood except from the base place which is just made of one single layer of smoothed concrete.
The long proportion and the uncompromising circulation concept create a continual promenade following the attractive views. Moreover, the evident continuity in the plan encourages a collaborative family life under one common perceptible roof.
The facade crossbreeds the vernacular type of the barn with more formal, quite opposite building elements in order to create a kind of nobility by simple means. Its detailing had to be simple enough to allow for an assembly by the clients’ own hands.
The low-energy concept is based on a well insulated building envelope (wood), a sufficient storage mass (concrete base and clay surfaces) and a sophisticated building technology. The house is heated by a combination of solar energy and a big central storage stove.
